The DENA Magazine RED CARPET POOL PARTY @ RAGING WATERS
On the night of March 24th, during the height
of the Trayvon Martin tragedy, the unarmed
19-year-old Kendrec McDade was shot and
killed by two Pasadena Police officers claiming
to be responding to a robbery call.

Community members rallied outside Pasadena
City Hall on Tuesday, April 10th with McDade's
parents and attorney demanding answers to
the case, specifically the release of the 911 call
the officers claim to have been responding to
and the official police policy regarding firing a
weapon from a police vehicle.  Many more
questions arise as the investigation continues.

When we brought up the matter to Pasadena's
Chief of Police, Phil Sanchez, one of the things
he said was,
"Police departments must ensure
officers and employees serve the public with respect
and work to build positive community relationships.
Training, which includes lethal force, must be
contemporary - based on conative processing and
effective decision-making.
